Glenlivet 12

GJ calls it “the Scotch that people who don’t know Scotch order” and says he prefers one with more character, such as Lagavulin.

Alagash Curieux

A bourbon barrel aged tripel-style beer. Strong and sweet. Not totally unlike Delirium Tremens.

Actor Robert Baker joins Nick and GJ as they wrap up 2013, Bionic style!

After a HIGH ENERGY Intro, GJ uses his Random Thought to talk about drug commercials.  Side effects include chronic diarrhea and in rare cases…death!

Moving into Updates, GJ tells us about the challenges of becoming a Lyft driver, while Nick discusses buying drugs on Silk Road, iPhone cookies, and a guy who bought a Tesla Model S with Bitcoins.  Before moving on, Nick talks a bit about his toga-themed birthday party and wonders who might have pissed in his shower.

TOGA! TOGA! TOGA!

TOGA! TOGA! TOGA!

Next is Whatcha Drinkin’?!  Nick brought a nice 12 year old bottle of Glenlivet that was given to him as a birthday gift, and Robert brought a barrel aged tripel-style beer called Alagash Curieux.  GJ says that he prefers his scotch with a bit more character, but that the Glenlivet is a solid choice.  The beer is strong and sweet.  Nick says that it reminds him of Delirium Tremens.

Then it’s on to the Meat of the show.  From Miley to Macklemore, exploding whales and “news scandal crime things”; we wrap up 2013 with the flair you’ve come to expect from The Bionic Broadcast.  Thrill to the sounds of GJ and his hatred for Lorde, Imagine Dragons, and Of Monsters and Men!  Enjoy a thoughtful moment of cogent discourse as Nick calls for sexual honesty from US politicians!  Pause for quiet reflection during our 2013 ‘In Memoriam’!  All this and so much more!  Things like:

You tell us.

You tell us.

  • Singing at restaurants
  • The benefits of dark nipples
  • Homophobic slurbs

PLUS

  • You let Dennis Farina have the music!

AND

  • What’s really going on with Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart?

Don’t forget to listen to our movie/TV/film/television podcast Whatcha Watchin’?!

The cover this time is THE song of 2013, Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus.

P.S. In case you missed it, here’s that exploding whale video…
