A Walk in the Garden

2 oz. fennel-infused gin
3/4 oz. fresh lime juice
3/4 oz. agave nectar
1 oz. fresh celery juice

Combine ingredients in a shaker and shake with ice. Double strain into a cocktail glass.

Nick and GJ go guest free for a podcast about cheaters, hoaxes, superheroes, sex in literature, and how personality traits affect your Facebook status updates.

After a quick Intro, GJ opens up with his random thought: gas prices… why isn’t anyone complaining about them?

Then, during Updates, Nick reads a letter from a listener, gives us another dose of “stench news”, and brings us up to date on his plan to quit smoking so much herb.  Before moving on, Nick hears another complaint from GJ about the Amazon.com commercials.

Ha ha guys, now install the fuckin' filter.

Ha ha guys. Now install the fuckin’ filter.

Next is Whatcha Drinkin’?!  This time, GJ has crafted a fennel-infused gin for a drink called A Walk in the Garden.  Its combination of  fennel, lime, and celery juices gives this cocktail a taste that is not unlike something you’d order from a juice bar…well, one that spikes their drinks with booze.  It’s a nice change of pace from the spicier drinks that are all the rage these days.

The it’s on to the Meat of the show.  From GJ we hear about Elan Gale and “Diane”, how personality types influence your Facebook status updates, and he introduces a new recurring segment about hoaxes.  Nick brings us some thoughts about typography inspired superheroes, tells us about a “dating” website for cheaters, and introduces the nominees for Literary Review’s 2013 ‘Bad Sex in Literature’ award.  Along the way they also tackle these topics:

  • False accusationsnerds!
  • Sports neuroses
  • Card carrying nerds

  • Punching out Rivers Cuomo
  • Demasculation

  • Lustful quims!

Don’t forget to check out our other podcast, Whatcha Watchin’?!

The cover this time is “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes.
