El Chupacabra

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. anejo tequila
  • 1 oz. Pimm’s #1
  • 3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 oz. simple syrup (1:1)
  • 1 dash Peychaud bitters
  • 2 pieces sliced cucumber
  • 1/4 oz. Cynar
  • 1 splash soda water

Directions

Muddle 1 cucumber slice at the bottom of a shaker. Add first five ingredients. Strain into collins glass with ice. Top with soda water. Float Cynar. Garnish with a cucumber slice. Drink.

This time around Nick and GJ revisit the great Kickstarter debate, talk a little more about gun control, break down the Teen Mom sex tape, and bring us up to speed on the potato chip flavor contest.

Then it’s on to Whatcha Drinkin’?! This episode’s featured cocktail is El Chupacabra.  Named for the mythical beast with a penchant for feasting on the blood of livestock, this cocktail is actually quite refreshing and nothing about it will remind you of blood or animals.  Tequila and Pimm’s liqueur mix with Cynar (an artichoke based liqueur) lemon juice, soda water, and bitters for a slightly sweet, slightly sour combination that would be right at home during your next summer cocktail party.  You’ll have to round up a few extra ingredients for this one, but it’s well worth the effort.  Highly recommended!
