After the intro, Nick and GJ get a little confused about the flow of the show. Should GJ say hello first or move straight into the updates?  You’d think they would have it down after 35 episodes.

Moving into the Updates, GJ brings us a new study about the proliferation and general effects of anal sex, while Nick reads an original poem by GJ’s dad Gilbert that was inspired by the show.  For the full text of the poem, see the bottom of this post.

Samwell could probably tell GJ a thing or two about the booty

Whatcha Drinkin’?! this time is a very potent cocktail that features a rather distinct combination of flavors.  “From Norway to Sicily” prominently features aquavit, a traditional Norwegian spirit infused with the flavor of caraway, as well as averna, an herbal liqueur from Sicily.  We’re not going to lie to you; this is a strange one, people.  It tastes like rye bread and Nick gets smashed after drinking two of them.  Also worth noting is the fact that GJ got the aquavit from an estate sale, meaning that the boys are drinking a dead man’s liquor.  Perhaps it’s cursed!

Next, with the November elections just days behind them, Nick and GJ decide to talk politics.  Things start out innocently enough, with a discussion of Measure B (the Los Angeles county proposal to require porn actors to wear condoms) and genetically modified foods, but soon enough the guys turn to weightier issues like abortion and the death penalty.

In addition to those meaty topics, the conversation also hits these beats:

Fuck cassettes!

  • The OPPOSITE of poetry is prose
  • GJ’s unifying theory of abortion and homophobia
  • A drunk Nick talks about the Constitution

PLUS

  • The guys discuss what they would do if they had the power of Satan

AND

  • Nick has no love for cassette tapes!

Then it’s on to Whatcha Watchin’?!  Nick saw GJ’s latest film Virtually Heroes, while GJ saw Ginger Snaps and School of Rock.

The cover this time is “Havin’ A Roni” by Vanilla Ice.

**SPECIAL BONUS**

Here is the text of Gilbert’s poem I Talk To Dead People and My Two Cats as it appeared on Nick’s Facebook page:

I TALK TO DEAD PEOPLE & My Two Cats
They don’t answer and they don’t talk back
Down from the skys helper guardian spies
Incredulous they come live and die
Nebulously from The Rising Pillars of Smoke
Anchor and Chain, Ralph, Alice, and Cain
Tying the clouds to the ground raining
Earth to heaven restraining
Fire and Smoke, two cats, my brain
Ball and chain remaining.

Thanks Gilbert!
