The Last Word

  • 3/4 oz gin
  • 3/4 oz lime juice
  • 3/4 oz Green Chartreuse
  • 3/4 oz maraschino liqueur

Combine the ingredients in a shaker. Shake. Serve up.

As promised, episode 27 picks up where episode 26 left off as Nick and GJ continue their “probe” of the issues facing men today.

After the intro, the guys start things off by discussing the “white trash” birthday party that GJ threw for his better half the night before. Moonshine, Pall Mall’s, foot rubs, and a redneck hot tub….good stuff!

Bionic hot tub!

Next, GJ talks about a draining experience he had while filming a commercial, and Nick tells us that it’s easy to walk away when you don’t care if people respect you.

Then it’s on to Whatcha Drinkin’?! Things begin a little differently this time as Producer Justin went and “beefed up” the standard laser blast intro. Make sure to listen for it; it’s a doozy! The cocktail for this episode is The Last Word. GJ had intended to make this drink for episode 23 but at the time he didn’t have the key ingredient, a historic French liqueur called Chartreuse. Lime juice and Maraschino liqueur offer a sweet and sour balance against the complex flavors introduced by the gin and the Chartreuse. It’s tangy, potent, and perfect for a summer night with friends.

After that the guys head straight in to the main topic, men! Truth be told, the conversation actually focuses more on women’s issues this time around. The “biological clock”, PMS, pregnancy, childbirth, the pill… Nick and GJ discuss ‘em all! Other topics include:

Zombie GJ, before the puke.

  • The difference between a colon and a prostate
  • Sex on the first date
  • The “free pass” (AKA the list of celebrities that one is allowed to bang should the opportunity present itself)

  • Nick and GJ get emotional about stuffed animals
  • The relative greasiness of Vincent Gallo

  • Is anyone surprised that Nick isn’t afraid to cry?

No time for Whatcha Watchin?! this episode as GJ needs to get home so he can watch “The Bachelorette” finale! Oh Geej!

The cover this time is “Pasties and a G String” by Tom Waits.
